You know you’re gonna wanna dance...
About The Rhythm Allstars
The Rhythm Allstars each bring many decades of experience entertaining crowds and playing blues, rock, and R&B to our band performances. It is our collective experience and energy we bring to each and every crowd that gets them to dance their tails off. We call ourselves "a blues based party band" with roughly 50% originals although we often pivot to crowd favorites as needed to keep the audience happy & engaged for hours. We look forward to performing for and entertaining at your venue or party soon!
Individual bios are as follows.
Russ Musilek (vocals, guitars). Russ began playing guitar in the 70's in Iowa where he was introduced to the music of Albert King, BB King, and many other seminal blues players from Chicago. After moving to colorado, he played in Lionel Young's blues jam house band for 17 years. He also played in Transjam where he met Kim Burch. He and Kim went on to found The Rhythm Allstars in the early 2000's and continues to contribute significantly to the original music the band plays. In doing so, he has been leading the band to bring taseful "blues based party music" to audiences ever since.
Kim Burch (vocals, harp, guitar, cowbell). A native of Boulder, Colorado, Kim was a founder and hard-driving frontman for decades with Transjam. Kim and Russ were founding members of The Rhythm Allstars where Kim has been crushing the lead vocals, harp, and guitar for over 20 years. His contribution as a frontman has been a key ingredient of The Rhythm Allstars sound and personality.
Shannon Spencer (drums). Shannon hails from Cheyenne, WY and has lived in the North Denver area since the mid 80's. She was lucky to attend schools that allowed girls to play drums in the early 70's and has played many styles in many bands & productions since she was 12. She became a professional at 15, teaching then performing in bands at 19, all while holding down full time jobs. Now happily retired since 2008, she is still playing drums and will continue to do so as long as she is able to carry them.
Don Finan (vocals, guitars). Don spent his formative musical years in the Chicago area before moving to Colorado. He has been with The Rhythm Allstars since 2012 and also played with Deborah Stafford and Stone Soup as well as the Bare Naked Blues Duo for several years. His mastery of 80's driving rhythm guitar and lead styles in an invaluable contribution to the sound of The Rhythm Allstars.
Brian Donnell (vocals, bass). Brian cut his teeth on blues, rock, jazz, and country in the St. Louis area where he was gigging for money since being old enough to drive. He has played with the Big Thompson Flood, The Randall Dubis Band, Deborah Stafford & Stone Soup, The Complete Unknowns, Gilles Palmarini & The Dream Team and numerous other Front Range bands and musicians. He joined The Rhythm Allstars in 2012 where he enjoys "percolating" on the bass, singing, and bring his big phat bottom end to the dancers on the dance floor.
